Gail Diane Allcroft, 78, of Ventura passed away peacefully Thursday, February 27th while on hospice care and surrounded by family at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and James Teshima.

She was born to the late Claire and Carl Druckenmiller, July 30, 1935 in Allentown, PA.  Gail was a graduate of the Reading School of Nursing in Reading, PA.  She married Robert Leland Allcroft on June 8, 1957 in Allentown, PA. 

Gail worked as a Registered Nurse for forty years and raised her family in Framingham, MA.  She served her community there as a Girl Scout leader and was an avid swimmer her entire life.  During high school in Allentown, PA, she was   captain of the girls’ synchronized swim team.  Gail enjoyed cooking for her family, spending time with her grandchildren, and traveling with her husband Bob as much as possible.

Gail and Bob moved to Ventura seven years ago.  They have lived in NJ, PA, MA, FL, and CA.  They would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary this year.

Gail is survived by her husband Robert and by their six children: Gregory and wife Shann of Mill Valley, Diane and husband Gary Yoder of PA, Cynthia and husband Joseph Schmelz of TX, Linda and husband James Teshima, Jill Orfao of WA, and Roger and wife Megan of RI.  She is also survived by her sister Joanne Fogel of CA, brother Richard of CO, seventeen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death last year by her grandson, CWO Jarett Yoder who was serving his country in Afghanistan.

Committal of ashes will be in early June at the Riverside National Cemetery, CA.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the to the Alzheimer’s Association.
