Marcella H. Barron
February 21, 1945 - October 9, 2015
Marcella H. Barron, 70, of Philadelphia and San Francisco, died at home with her sister at her side early on 10/9/15, having courageously battled numerous auto-immune diseases, defying the doctors who told her 25 years ago that she had fewer than two years to live. Despite the odds, she lived a full life. Marcella, a talented artist, attended the Tyler School of Art. She had an immense love of nature and animals, often rescuing and nurturing small injured or orphaned animals. She captured the spirit of many people and animals in her photography & created some extraordinary portraits. She was extremely intuitive and full of sage advice for her friends. Marcella was a joyful spirit, perceptive as hell, and had a generous open heart.>
She is survived by her loving sister, Laurie, sister-in-law, Marcea Rosen, and will be dearly missed by her beloved family of friends all over the world -- Angie & Mike Diamond, Helen Davis, Tim Chavez & Stephen Butler, Louise Reiter, Herman Gaglione, Sandy Kovtun, Sharol Graves, Blake Russell, Elaine Herscher, Michael Braslaw, Robin Evans, Jeff Ginsburg & Tony Boccacio, Jackie LaPierre and countless others. She joins those she loved dearly who predeceased her: her grandmother Sarah, mother Mildred, fur kids Lady, Rhami Shundir, Chloe and Sarah Gabriele. Rest in power, Fierce and Gentle Warrior Woman. Donations in her memory can be made to Save the Chimps Foundation (www.janegoodall.org), Doctors Without Borders (www.DoctorsWithoutBorders.org), Montgomery County SPCA (www.montgomerycountyspca.org) or a charity of the donor's choice. Services private.
