Josephine Thomas

Josephine Thomas, age 92, of Philadelphia, PA died January 21, 2016 at the Tucker House in Philadelphia, PA. Josephine was born on January 6,1924 in Boman South Carolina to the late Henery Lovett Rush and Roseanna Felder Rush.She was one of nine children. Josephine attended Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Glover in Orangeburg County,South Carolina where she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age.Later years she attended several churches until her health began to fail.Josephine relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the 1940's where she met and married her soul mate, the late Harvey W Thomas; from this Union there were six children. Josephine was employed at Campbell Soup and Quarter Masters during World War II.Later years Josephine loved to tell people she worked at Campbell Soup.Our mother, Josephine was a very proud and amazing woman up until the Lord called her home.She loved her children unconditionally.We loved our mother more than words could ever express. Josephine loved music,dancing and time with family and friends. Josephine had fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
