My old friend,

Marie was a kind and generous woman. We were friends many years ago and “lost touch” in later years. Marie attended my wedding in 1980. She sewed special things for my daughter in her early years as a toddler.

The kindest memory I have of Marie is from a Christmas about 20 years ago. We shared the same hairdresser, Rita Riccelli, who owned her own shop in the Suburban Station Concourse for many years. Rita struggled with the costs of owning her own business and eventually was forced to give it up and go to work for another salon. Rita loved to buy clothes from Spiegel catalog, and Marie and I were frequent shoppers also. One Christmas Marie approached me and suggested that we go together and give Rita a $100 gift certificate to Spiegel to show our appreciation for her services over the years. Well, I went ahead and made the purchase and hand delivered it to Rita. It was a special moment and one I will never forget...Rita was shocked, grateful and excited to have that shopping spree at her favorite store. She had tears in her eyes...it was all Marie’s idea!
I’ve thought about Marie often over the last six months and tried to,get her contact information with no success.
Rest In Peace, my friend. It was an honor and pleasure to have you for a friend.
